Addaday Massage Roller Review

Disclaimer: I received an Addaday Type C Massage Roller as a part of Influencer Day at The Running Event (TRE) which I was able to attend as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

Day 2 of what will hopefully be 11 consecutive days of product reviews from TRE is dedicated to another incredible brand, +addaday. As part of our swag bags from The Running Event (TRE), we received one of Addaday's Type C Massage Rollers which has definitely come in handy the last couple of weeks.

If you're unfamiliar with Addaday, they're a company that is dedicated to not only recovery from exercise, but also overall wellness. What started as a company focussing specifically on massage rollers has started to expand to other products (which I'll touch on later), and we heard briefly at TRE that there are plenty more surprises in the pipeline.

The Design

Medium Massage Rollers

The Addaday Type C Massage Roller has two distinct types of rollers for you to use on your sore muscles. The primary rollers are Medium Muscle Rollers which are textured to help grip your muscle a bit better for a more effective massage. There are three medium rollers on the stick which are perfect for rolling over larger areas like calves, quads, IT-Bands, etc.

Pin-Point Muscle Roller

Towards the middle of the massage stick, there is also a "Pin-Point Muscle Roller," a small red wheel that can dig in a little deeper on hard-to-reach spots. For me, this has been particularly effective at rolling out the edge of my shin to mitigate shin splints and also to roll out the area where my calf connects to my knee. The spacing of the wheels makes them much easier to maneuver than a traditional foam roller.

Benefits of Rolling

Like foam rolling, one of the primary benefits of Addadays massage rollers is to loosen up your muscles and increase your range of motion. A quick roll over the primary muscle groups in your legs can actually be an excellent way to warm your muscles up before exercise.

The other main benefit of rolling out your muscles is to increase blood flow. This can also be of benefit before a run but can be even more helpful in terms of recovery. Increased blood flow to damaged muscles can help decrease inflammation and also help mitigate some of the soreness you may feel after particularly tough workouts.

Final Take

Addaday's brand representatives at TRE were some of my favorites to talk to because of their very clear devotion and passion for athlete wellness. I mentioned that they're beginning to expand past their traditional massage rollers and we also had the opportunity to test a new product of theirs, Addaday Runner's Tea.

As I write this review, having just finished a full roll-out routine, I've got a full pitcher of their tea in front of me and it's an excellent way to relax post-workout. The hand-picked full-leaf Oolong tea seems like such a simple concept but really demonstrates how Addaday is working to consider all aspects of a runner's life when it comes to wellness.

Their name "Addaday" literally comes from the idea that you can "Add a day" to your life by focusing on wellness. Their combination of products is the perfect way to not only recover from your runs but also just to stay relaxed and stress-free day-to-day.
