Before we jump into the review, first let's take a look at the story behind the sunglasses because it's one of my favorite aspects of these shades:
“Growing up, my dad had a pair of sneakers in the garage that he’d wear when he mowed the lawn. He called them his ‘knockaround’ sneakers—you could count on them, they were dependable, and you didn’t care if they got beaten up.
So, I just applied that idea to sunglasses. I wanted them to be affordable, if you lost them or broke them, no big deal. The Knockaround name seemed like a natural fit—like, I’m just going to knock around this pair of sunglasses.”

For my Knockaround sunglasses review, I was lucky enough to receive two pairs of Knockaround's Premium Polarized sunglasses and I still can't decide which are my favorite. I've got one pair of the tortoiseshell frames with green lenses, and another pair of matte black frames with red lenses.
I have to say, as someone who typically only has one pair of cheap gas station sunglasses at my disposal, it has been nice being able to alternate between a couple of pairs. I may even stock up on one or two more pairs to take to the beach this summer.
Despite the inexpensive price tag, the sunglasses are pretty durable (I have a habit of knocking sunglasses off my head when I leave them on the brim of my hat). I'm really digging the style, and they've got polarized lenses as well which is a necessity for me.
My eyes are incredibly sensitive to sunlight and the polarization saves me from constantly squinting. One thing I like about the Knockaround lenses is that they give just the slightest blue tint to everything. It's not too noticeable except that everything seems brighter.
Final Thoughts
As I mentioned the price is also a HUGE draw for me. Starting at only $15 per pair, it's easy to stock up, and true to their mission, you don't have to worry as much about losing or accidentally breaking a pair. I like that I can wear these sunglasses out to the brewery with friends, on a quick afternoon run, and hopefully trekking through the mountains this summer.
Cheers!
