I just wrapped up testing what has become one of my favorite new summer gear items. The new CoolNet UV+ Headband from Buff. I've been a fan of Buff for a while but have found their full-sized buffs to be a bit too bulky in the warmer months.
The introduction of the new headband-sized Buffs is exactly what I needed to make sure I'm now covered year-round, and there are a few things in particular that I love about this product.
Size
Like I said, I've got quite a few Buff products of all different sizes and functions. With the full Buff and even the half Buff, there's just a tad more material than what I'm looking for on a hot summer run. With the headband size, you get all the benefits Buff has to offer but with less weight and less material holding any heat in. It may seem like a small detail but on the hottest runs, anything you can do to help keep cool makes a big difference.
Material
As with all of Buff's products, the CoolNet UV+ material is incredibly soft and flexible which I love. As someone who's incredibly pale, I also appreciate the added UV protection. More skin covered means less skin I have to smother in greasy sunscreen before my run!
I'm also a big fan of Buff's move towards incorporating more sustainable materials into their design. With the new CoolNet line, the material is made from 95% recycled materials.
Design
One thing Buff has always done right is nailing the patterns and designs of their products. I had a really hard time choosing my favorite but ultimately chose the wavy blue "Moonbow" pattern. They do a great job of providing not only plenty of color options but plenty of designs and patterns as well to choose from.
Final Thoughts
I'm happy the Buff is machine washable because mine is getting plenty of use so I'm happy it's easy to clean! Since I got this, I've worn it on almost every run except some of my afternoon runs when opted for something with a brim to help keep the sun out of my eyes.
If you're looking for something to control your hair and keep sweat out of your face on the run, I would definitely recommend checking out the new CoolNet UV+ Line. For added cooling, you can also throw your Buff in the freezer before your next run! I highly recommend giving it a shot!
Cheers!
